Platform Terms & Conditions

EFG Afro Market ("EFG", "we", "us", "our") operates the marketplace available at efgafromarket.ae and the associated role dashboards at dashboard.efgafromarket.ae. By registering an account, listing products, placing an order, or otherwise using the service you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and — depending on your role — the Supplier Agreement or Buyer Agreement.

If you do not agree to any part of these Terms you must not use the platform.

EFG Afro Market is a business-to-business (B2B) marketplace. Accounts may only be created by:

• Registered legal entities (companies, cooperatives, sole proprietors with a trade licence);
• Authorised representatives acting on behalf of such entities;
• Individuals who are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering contracts in their jurisdiction.

Consumer accounts, resellers intending to break bulk into retail consumer sales, or anonymous use are not permitted.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for every action performed under your account. KYC verification is required for all suppliers and recommended for buyers before transacting above configurable thresholds. We may suspend, limit or terminate accounts that fail verification, submit fraudulent documents, or violate these Terms.

• Post accurate product information, truthful specifications and real photos / videos of goods you represent.
• Transact in the currencies configured for your account; cross-border currency rules are described in each role agreement.
• Comply with all applicable export controls, sanctions, customs and food-safety regulations.
• Respect intellectual property: do not upload content you do not own or are not licensed to use.
• Do not attempt to circumvent escrow, platform commissions or payout controls.

You must not:

• List illegal goods, restricted wildlife products, counterfeit items, prohibited narcotics, or items subject to UN / OFAC / EU sanctions.
• Use the platform to launder money, evade taxes, or process payments for activities outside the listed order.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with our infrastructure.
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users or EFG personnel.
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate ratings, escape bans, or inflate metrics.

All paid orders flow through our escrow mechanism operated by our payment provider (Stripe). Funds are held in escrow until the buyer confirms delivery or the configured inspection window elapses. The full escrow lifecycle and commission schedule are set out in the relevant role agreement.

EFG currently charges a 5% platform commission per completed order (subject to change with notice). Payouts to suppliers are processed to their verified Stripe Connect account in the currency configured at onboarding.

If a buyer and supplier cannot resolve an order issue directly, either party may open a dispute via the dashboard. EFG acts as an independent facilitator; we review the evidence submitted and may release, refund, or partially split escrowed funds based on the platform's Dispute Resolution Policy.

The EFG brand, platform UI, code and content are owned by EFG Afro Market and protected under UAE, African, and international IP law. You retain ownership of product content you upload, and grant EFG a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the marketplace.

The platform is provided "as is". EFG does not manufacture, warehouse, or inspect goods. Product quality, compliance, shipping and customs clearance are the responsibility of the supplier and buyer unless otherwise stated. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EFG's aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the platform commissions paid to EFG on the specific order that is the subject of the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, safety risk to other users, or as required by law. You may close your account at any time from the dashboard; closure does not extinguish obligations for orders already in flight.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute not resolved through the platform's internal process will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the DIFC Courts in Dubai, UAE.
